VisIC Technologies Secures $26M Investment for GaN EV Innovation

VisIC Technologies Ltd., based in Ness Ziona, Israel, has announced the successful closing of a $26 million Round B funding. The investment was led by a global semiconductor leader with Hyundai Motor Company and Kia joining as strategic investors. This funding reinforces VisIC's leadership in Gallium Nitride (GaN) power semiconductors, particularly for electric vehicle (EV) traction inverters, integral to next-generation electric mobility.

This investment aligns with the global push for improved EV efficiency. VisIC's D³GaN™ platform aims to overcome limitations of traditional silicon-based and expensive SiC solutions, offering smaller, efficient inverters for EV architectures ranging from 400V to 800V. The funds will expedite the development of Gen3 and Gen4 GaN technologies, ensuring a reliable supply chain for GaN product delivery and exploring 800V data center power applications.
