Visit Sweden has announced an initiative allowing international travellers to use five of Sweden's islands for a year. With over 267,000 islands, Sweden presents this unique opportunity, emphasizing tranquility and nature. The initiative, launched in collaboration with the National Property Board, redefines luxury as simplicity and space.

A YouGov survey indicated a global interest in such escapes, with 77% willing to visit a Swedish island. The program encourages applicants to submit videos showcasing their motivation for wanting this experience. Selected individuals will enjoy the secluded beauty of these islands, while being within reach of local communities.

Those not chosen still have ample opportunity to explore Sweden's vast array of islands, from serene lakes to expansive coastlines.
