Vulcan Energy Unveils Positive Feasibility Study for Second German Project
Vulcan Energy Resources Limited has announced the completion of its Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) for Project Ludwig. This project marks Vulcan's second phase in lithium and geothermal energy production in Germany's Upper Rhine Valley. Project Ludwig aims to enhance capital efficiency, drawing lessons from Vulcan’s first phase, Project Lionheart, to improve returns and reduce capital intensity.
The study reveals robust economic prospects for Project Ludwig with a pre-tax NPV8 of €2.6 billion and IRR of 25.0%. The project plans to produce 21,100 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually, alongside 3,125 GWh of renewable heat. Capital intensity is reduced by 15% compared to Lionheart, reflecting enhanced project maturity.
