Avergies, Valorizon, and Waga Energy have successfully launched a renewable natural gas (RNG) production unit at the l'Albié landfill in Monflanquin, Southwestern France. This initiative marks a critical step in the region's energy transition, turning biogas from landfill waste into RNG for local consumption.

The new WAGABOX® unit is expected to generate about 41,000 MMBtu of renewable gas per year, which can supply approximately 2,000 households. This production will replace fossil natural gas and reduce carbon emissions by 3,200 tons annually. Monflanquin landfill, processing 30,000 tons of waste each year, has now become a significant part of the local circular economy.

The project garnered financial support from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and aims to bolster the area's renewable gas sector. Officials from Valorizon and Avergies highlight the project's alignment with environmental goals and regional economic development.
