Waga Energy et Casella inaugurent une nouvelle unité de biométhane en Pennsylvanie
Waga Energy et Casella Waste Systems ont annoncé le démarrage de leur troisième unité de production de biométhane à McKean, Pennsylvanie. Ce projet s'inscrit dans un programme débuté en 2023, comprenant déjà deux autres installations aux États-Unis.
La technologie WAGABOX®, utilisée pour transformer le gaz des déchets en biométhane, permet à cette nouvelle unité de produire jusqu'à 120 GWh de gaz renouvelable par an. Cette initiative contribue à diminuer de 31 000 tonnes les émissions de CO₂ annuelles selon l'Environmental Protection Agency.
Financée par Waga Energy, l'unité sera exploitée pendant vingt ans, les bénéfices issus de la vente du biométhane étant partagés avec Casella. Cette réalisation constitue une avancée dans le partenariat entre les deux entreprises pour fournir une alternative renouvelable au gaz fossile.
