Walmart Mexico and Vusion to Revolutionize Retail with EdgeSense

Walmart de México y Centroamérica, Mexico's foremost retailer, is enhancing its partnership with Vusion to revolutionize its retail operations. The strategic collaboration will see the deployment of the EdgeSense connected store platform across Walmart Express stores, with plans to expand into Supercenters. By the end of 2026, all Express stores will incorporate this cutting-edge technology.

This initiative marks the significant extension of Vusion's digitalization solutions in Latin America, building on past successes in the US. EdgeSense technology aims to modernize store operations, improve inventory accuracy, and enhance customer experiences by integrating AI, computer vision, and real-time data. With over 1.7 million electronic shelf labels and 180,000 smart rails being introduced, Walmart seeks to cement its position as a leader in retail innovation in the region.

Furthermore, a pilot deployment will commence in the Bodega format, exploring the platform's potential in broader store environments. Representatives from both Walmart and Vusion emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion in reshaping future retail experiences.
