Western Alaska Minerals Appoints New Principal Geologist
Western Alaska Minerals Corp. (WAM) has announced the promotion of Sage Langston-Stewart to Principal Geologist. Langston-Stewart will now lead the technical team advancing the Illinois Creek project in western Alaska. Her promotion follows significant contributions to understanding local deposits, including a new discovery at the Warm Springs prospect in 2024. The drilling and exploration program is set to begin in late May 2025, contingent on financing and seasonal conditions.
The company also announced Andrew West's resignation as VP of Exploration, effective April 7, 2025. CEO Kit Marrs expressed gratitude for West's contributions, particularly his work on Waterpump Creek and the State of Alaska Uplands Mining Lease.
Meanwhile, WAM granted 80,000 stock options to consultants, exercisable at $0.64 over five years, with vesting spread over the first year. Additionally, 60,414 restricted share units were issued to non-executive directors, vesting one year from the grant date.
