Western Investment Company of Canada to Initiate Share Buyback Program
On September 8, 2026, The Western Investment Company of Canada Limited announced its intention to start a normal course issuer bid (NCIB). The company plans to repurchase up to 8,353,100 common shares, representing 5% of its shares, through TSX Venture Exchange facilities and other Canadian trading systems, subject to TSXV approval.
The NCIB will begin on September 8, 2026, and continue until the company buys the full amount, voluntarily ends the NCIB, or until September 8, 2027. Monthly acquisitions are limited to 2% of shares. The decision reflects the company's belief that repurchasing shares can optimize shareholder value.
TD Securities Inc. has been appointed as the broker to facilitate the transactions. Purchases will be executed using Western's existing capital, following an automatic purchase plan outlining set parameters. No directors or officers currently intend to sell shares during this period.
