Worldline Completes New Zealand Payment Division Sale to Cuscal
Worldline [Euronext: WLN], a leader in European payment services, has finalized the sale of its New Zealand payment operations to Cuscal Limited [ASX: CCL] for approximately €17 million. This move aligns with Worldline's strategy to concentrate on its European operations, enhancing operational efficiency and resource allocation.
The New Zealand division managed around 70% of in-store transactions, collaborating with major banks. Despite the sale, Worldline will continue offering its technology and software services to Cuscal for a transition period. Financially, the impact on Worldline includes an estimated revenue of €35 million and an Adjusted EBITDA of €12 million, with minimal free cash flow implications.
Overall, the transaction is expected to boost Worldline's financial profile and support strategic capital redeployment. The company has previously divested several key segments, with expected combined net proceeds totaling €590-640 million by 2026.
