Renewing Silk Road Ties: Chinese Porcelain Meets Italian Maiolica

The art exhibition "The Road of White Porcelain - From China's Dehua to Italy's Gubbio" launched in Gubbio, Italy, marking a new cultural exchange phase. Dehua, a vital Chinese ceramic hub, introduces its white porcelain to Italy, enhancing historical ties. Gubbio, known for maiolica, meets this Chinese tradition through 41 pieces from Dehua masters. These works blend "Chinese white" porcelain with modern aesthetics, enriching cultural dialogue.

This year highlights 55 years of China-Italy diplomatic relations. Cultural exchanges thrive, with a sister-city relationship planned between Dehua and Gubbio. Cooperation is set to expand in culture, industry, and logistics, alongside plans for a "Blanc de Chine: Dehua Porcelain" center in Italy.

Dehua aspires to integrate further into Italian cultural and business spheres, showcasing its heritage and modern creativity, thus renewing traditional Silk Road connections for a contemporary era.
