XPRIZE Wildfire Distributes $4.55M to Innovators in Fire Detection and Response

The XPRIZE Foundation awarded $4.55 million to teams in the XPRIZE Wildfire competition, focused on innovative technologies for wildfire detection and response. The competition, launched in 2023 with an $11 million prize pool, aimed to enhance firefighting technologies and was supported by sponsors such as PG&E and Lockheed Martin.

Track A, which centered on space-based wildfire detection, awarded $1.05 million. The SIRIUS Wildfire Alliance emerged as the winner, receiving $500,000. Other notable entries included Team Snuffed and MyRadar, which received special recognitions.

In Track B, Autonomous Wildfire Response, $3.5 million was distributed. The first prize of $1.2 million went to Anduril Industries for their Lattice software platform. Dryad Networks and AURA Foresight also received awards for their respective advancements in the field.
