Xryma Plc Debuts on ECB's Real-Time Gross Settlement Network
Xryma Plc, a banktech group based in Cyprus, has successfully launched operations on the European Central Bank's (ECB) T2 Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) network. This development enables almost instant cross-border euro payments, significantly reducing the time required for such transactions compared to traditional methods.
By using the T2 RTGS network, Xryma facilitates euro transfers within seconds instead of the usual three to five business days typical with SWIFT. The network, operated by the ECB, is known for its efficient and secure settlement processes.
Xryma's approach includes direct access to the T2 network, making it among the first non-bank payment service providers to do so. This positioning allows the company to offer rapid euro transactions to its customers, enhancing their payment experience by eliminating multi-bank delays.
Looking ahead, the ECB plans to expand T2's operations to 24/7, a move expected to further benefit Xryma's customers by offering even more flexibility and speed in euro settlements across a vast network of participant banks.
