Nebius to Acquire Eigen AI, Enhancing AI Inference Capabilities

Amsterdam-based AI cloud company, Nebius, has announced plans to acquire Eigen AI, an inference and model optimization leader. This acquisition aims to strengthen Nebius Token Factory's capabilities as a forefront managed inference platform by integrating Eigen AI’s technology with Nebius's global infrastructure.

The integration will incorporate Eigen AI’s industry-leading inference and optimization technologies directly into Nebius Token Factory, elevating production AI capabilities. Nebius also aims to establish a base in the San Francisco Bay Area, furthering its US expansion.

The acquisition, with a value of $643 million, combines cash and shares based on Nebius's stock price. It is projected to close within weeks, pending regulatory approvals.

This deal emphasizes Nebius's strategic focus on enhancing AI efficiency and speed, particularly in the growing inference segment, addressing the rise in open-source model usage and the associated optimization challenges.
