Zhejiang and Schleswig-Holstein Celebrate 40 Years of Partnership
On October 28, 2026, Zhejiang Province and Schleswig-Holstein celebrated the 40th anniversary of their sister-region partnership in Kiel, Germany. This collaboration, initiated in 1986, has grown to encompass trade, investment, science, technology, education, culture, tourism, and the marine sector.
The ceremony featured speeches from He Zhongwei, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, and Daniel Günther, Minister-President of Schleswig-Holstein. They expressed pride in their past cooperation and optimism for future ties.
A commemorative film by Zhejiang's Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, along with cultural performances, marked the occasion. Highlights included traditional Chinese opera and dance, as well as a sea shanty performed by a local choir, symbolizing maritime courage and unity.
