ISO Ports and Terminals Subcommittee Inaugural Meeting at ZPMC

The ISO Technical Committee on Ships and Marine Technology, Subcommittee on Ports and Terminals (ISO/TC 8/SC 27), held its first plenary meeting at ZPMC's headquarters in Shanghai, from October 21, 2025. This event marked the initiation of the first ISO subcommittee focused on standardizing ports and terminals, reflecting an important step in international shipping and port standards.

Over 150 participants from 15 countries, including China, the United States, and Germany, attended, alongside representatives from international port and terminal organizations. The three-day meeting included sessions on the Subcommittee's strategic plan and discussions on six proposed international standards.

The agenda also covered technical discussions and visits to significant industry sites, including ZPMC's Changxing Shipyard and Shanghai's Yangshan Deep-Water Port. This represents ZPMC's continuing efforts to influence global port standards by leveraging Chinese technological advancements.
