ZPMC Launches Advanced Offshore Engineering Vessel
Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) has launched a next-generation deepwater multi-purpose offshore engineering vessel for CNOOC Shenzhen. The vessel, debuted in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, is noted for its advanced construction capabilities, marking a significant milestone for ZPMC in offshore engineering. This development supports ZPMC's expanding role in deepwater resource development and engineering operations.
The vessel, featuring a streamlined monohull design, measures 126 meters in length and offers a 28-meter beam. It includes a central moon pool supporting saturation diving systems and ROVs, operable at depths up to 300 meters. Its innovative features include an electric azimuth thruster and a DP2 dynamic positioning system. Additionally, the ship can house up to 100 personnel.
Designed for diverse offshore engineering tasks, the vessel integrates a 400-ton crane, a 3,000-ton-class cable reel, and a saturation diving system. It supports pipeline repair and trenching operations with a 1,600-HP trencher. Modular construction methods were employed for enhanced efficiency and precision during assembly.
