SAN VICENTE DE TAGUA TAGUA, Chile, Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CNTE has supplied a 6.9MW/14.9MWh battery energy storage system solution for Agrosuper's San Vicente Plant in Chile's O'Higgins Region.

The system is designed to support peak shaving and load shifting at the industrial food-processing facility. It will store electricity during periods of lower demand and discharge during peak consumption, helping the plant optimize its electricity use, reduce peak-demand costs and ease pressure on the local grid.

The project will also provide backup power support for critical loads. Food-processing facilities rely heavily on continuous electricity for production equipment, refrigeration and cold-chain operations. The integration of battery storage is expected to improve the plant's power supply reliability and reduce the operational risks associated with grid disturbances or unplanned outages.

With a rated power of 6.9MW and a storage capacity of 14.9MWh, the system can respond rapidly to changes in the plant's electricity demand. CNTE's energy storage solution integrates battery equipment, power conversion and intelligent energy management to coordinate charging and discharging according to site load conditions and operational requirements.

The project reflects the growing adoption of battery energy storage in Chile's commercial and industrial sector. Beyond supporting renewable energy integration, BESS technology is increasingly being used by energy-intensive businesses to manage electricity costs, improve power quality and strengthen operational resilience.

The Agrosuper San Vicente project also adds to CNTE's growing portfolio of industrial energy storage projects in Latin America, where mining, food processing, manufacturing and other electricity-intensive industries are exploring more flexible and reliable energy solutions.
