EQS-Adhoc: Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG: BarmeniaGothaer: S&P upgrades ratings to “A+” – outlook stable

Cologne / Wuppertal, June 16, 2026 – The BarmeniaGothaer Group announces that S&P Global Ratings has upgraded the financial strength ratings of Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG, Gothaer Lebensversicherung AG and Gothaer Krankenversicherung AG from “A” to “A+”. At the same time, the hybrid bond was upgraded to “A-”. The outlook for all ratings is stable.
According to S&P, the rating upgrade reflects in particular the successful strategic development of BarmeniaGothaer as well as the progress made following the merger of Barmenia and Gothaer.
The following aspects were highlighted in particular:

• the broad and diversified positioning across the health, life and property & casualty insurance segments
• an overall strengthened market position and a well-established distribution network
• an expanded product portfolio and a growing customer base
• improved earnings capacity and profitability as a result of the merger
• a continued very strong capital base, underlining BarmeniaGothaer’s high financial stability and enhanced resilience

With this upgrade, S&P underscores the strengthened competitiveness and financial strength of BarmeniaGothaer. The improved rating also supports the Group’s refinancing capability.

Outlook
BarmeniaGothaer will continue to consistently drive forward integration and realize additional synergies. Focus areas include further harmonization of the product portfolio, closer integration of distribution channels, and targeted investments in technologies and digital solutions.
