Revolut reaches 3 million customers in Germany
- The 3-million-customer milestone was reached just a few months after surpassing 2.5 million users in the summer, highlighting Revolut’s strong growth in Germany.
- Transaction volumes increased by more than 67% year on year, with over 57% of spending concentrated in everyday categories.
- Revolut continues to strengthen its position as Germany’s everyday bank, with a clear long-term ambition to become the country’s leading bank.
Berlin, January 28 - Revolut, the global fintech, has surpassed the milestone of 3 million retail customers in Germany. The achievement comes just a few months after crossing the 2.5-million-customer mark and underlines the strong growth momentum Revolut has seen in the German market, particularly over the summer months of last year.
Germany remains one of Revolut’s fastest-growing markets in Europe. Alongside rising customer numbers, everyday usage is also increasing significantly: total transaction volume grew by more than 67% year on year. A closer look at spending patterns is particularly telling, with more than 57% of all card payments made in everyday categories such as shopping, groceries, restaurants, and transport. This clearly shows that an increasing number of people in Germany are using Revolut as their primary bank for daily life.
A key driver of this growth is Revolut’s product offering tailored to the German market. Features such as a current account with a German IBAN, daily savings accounts offering up to 2% interest per year, Pockets for smart money management, joint accounts, kids accounts and investment solutions for long-term wealth building address core customer needs in Germany: security, transparency, and full control over personal finances. Combined with a modern app experience and fair pricing, Revolut is increasingly establishing itself as a reliable everyday bank for millions of people in Germany.
Wiktor Stopa, Head of Growth Western Europe at Revolut, said: “Reaching 3 million customers in Germany so shortly after surpassing 2.5 million shows how deeply Revolut has become embedded in people’s everyday lives. Customers are increasingly using Revolut as their primary bank for daily spending, as well as for saving and building wealth. This is exactly where we are focusing our efforts, aligning closely with our customers' needs and continuing to invest specifically in the German market.”
Revolut is making targeted, long-term investments in Germany across products, infrastructure, and local teams, as well as in brand awareness and visibility. Through its partnership with the Audi Revolut F1 Team, Revolut has recently reached new milestones and further strengthened its position as a leading global financial brand. This is complemented by global partnerships with the NBA and a strong presence at international airports, including Munich, Berlin, and other major global hubs. These investments underline Revolut’s ambition to lead the competitive landscape and set new benchmarks.
From a regulatory perspective, Revolut will continue to deepen its European footprint in 2026 and announced plans to apply for a French banking licence. The company aims to move even closer to customers in Germany and France while further strengthening its local presence. At the same time, Revolut continues to expand its local teams and invest consistently in stability, service, and security.
Alongside its retail business, Revolut Business is also gaining increasing importance. More and more small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany are using Revolut as an efficient solution for day-to-day operations, international payments, and centralised financial management. With a clear commitment to the German market and a growing offering for both consumers and businesses, Revolut is positioning itself as a long-term, reliable financial partner in Germany.
